 Preparation Before Feed Grinding

PART 1

1. Inspection before installation of mill

Before production, a comprehensive inspection must be carried out.

Check whether the safety devices are complete and reliable.

Check whether the connection of each connecting part is reliable, whether the machine is firmly installed on the foundation or frame, and whether the fastening bolts are loose or falling off.

Open the machine cover and check whether there is any debris in the grinding chamber, whether all parts on the rotor are intact, and whether the cotter pin is fallen off or damaged.

Start the machine and check whether the direction of the grinder is consistent with the direction of the red arrow on machine cover.

Check the lubrication system.

2. Start-up trial run

If all aspects meet the requirements, start the trial run. After no-load test for one hour, check temperature rise of the bearing, and check whether the parts are abnormal. The temperature rise should not exceed 35°C. Generally, a common thermometer can be inserted into the butter cup for inspection (the temperature measured by thermometer minus room temperature is temperature rise value). When all parts meet the requirements, it can be put into production. For machine putting into use initially, it is best to process husks or hay first to clean the oil and rust inside the machine.

1. Characteristics of raw material

Feed mills usually need to grind various recycled materials and crop raw materials, such as straw, cotton stalks, corn stalks, corn, soybean meal and wheat.

2.Requirements for feed 

Increasing the surface area of feed and adjusting the particle size can improve digestibility, better absorb nutrients, and ultimately increase the feed-to-meat ratio. For example, chicken feed should not be too fine, because chickens like to eat granules or ground grains. Coarse and fine feeds can be mixed together, and they must be high oil; While feed for pigs, the finer the better, it does not require high oil.

3. Physical properties of raw materials

The speed has great influence on grinding effect and energy consumption of the equipment. Generally speaking, too high or too low speed will both results in reducing of grinding effect and increasing of energy consumption of the equipment. So it is necessary to optimize the speed of the mill. Generally speaking, the speed is related to the hardness and humidity of the material.

In practical applications, for materials with higher hardness, the speed can be appropriately increased; While for materials with higher humidity, the speed should be appropriately reduced. In addition, considering safety, the speed should not be excessively high to prevent damage or accident. The speed should depend on the hardness, humidity, size and composition of the material.

The rotor and base

The rotor and base are also key factors of the equipment. Generally, the dynamic balance of the rotor is controlled within 5g (the national standard is within 10g).
